I had the hydraulic trailer deliver it to my driveway and have a crane coming to move the boat from driveway to back yard so I can use my garage again.
Going to get the engine out of the house and into the cockpit so the crane can fly the old engine out and put the new one up there all in one visit. Started stripping the 318 today to reduce weight/make it fit out the door and found all kinds of surprises like a cracked exhaust elbow, broken stud for manifold, cooling hose to trans cooler absolutlely packed full of impeller bits and bilge full of bolts (couldnt see them before because it was so full of oily slop. Pulled lags, unbolted coupling and the rest of the wires and hoses so I can get at it with the chainfall next week. WIll do block and trans separately.
Mercruiser 383 stroker and ZF 630 down angle in 2.5:1.
Was just looking at the old exhaust manifolds in my truck and the gaskets are all cut from the wrong gaskets (made from other gaskets that didnt have the right openings). Not such a biggie but whoever has been the mechanic for this boat is definitely not worried about an owner asking 'why did you do that". Ran like a top though.
