I'm seriously considering a 24fter but only putting a 60HP 4 stroke on the back. Propped right...I think it could top out a 15ish knots and cruise at 10is being extremely economical doing so. For a sailor...a relaxing 10 knot cruise is "smoking" ;) Would my guessing be somewhat accurate  Thanks

I have a 24 footer with a 130 horse on the back... I'd bet I burn no more than 2 gph at 10-14kts. At 60 horse working harder to move that hull will likely burn more, not less. Current top end with 130 horse is about 29.5kts for comparison's sake.

I have a 21' with a 70 HP. I burn about 3.5 gal/hr @ 14 kts. WOT is 19 kts at best (wind, tide, new bottom paint, etc.). Just for comparison.
