Great looking job Bill, just a thought but have you ever thought of putting in a couple of vents back in the corners of the transom ? Real easy to install and would give you good circulation.
I thought about it but there is no damage to the framing back there other than around the hatch where it got wet. I wanted to add a significant amount of venting where it was needed and the back of the wheelhouse is right over the areas I repaired so it was an easy choice. If I took the deck up I would add some venting under the fishbox where it would be protected and wouldn't get in the way.

Got the 2nd coat of paint on last week and started putting things back together. The surge tube and port side struts went in quickly. Chris stopped by and put the new pro-series bellows on. I installed the rudder and new main seacock also. I started to re-install the bonding wires and mounted the new bilge pumps. I have a mess of wires to re-arrange before I can wire them in.

I have done that a few times and it does make for good circulation of the whole deck. Just a thought, you have some great ventilation with that new system you made.
I am planning to add corner vents to my Duffy.
Are you using a louvered vent? Or just building a box and keeping the top open under the gunnel?

Roger, in the Classifieds for Downeast Boats thread there is a 35 Duffy with those corner vents. But they put louvers in them.
So my scuppers are in the corner. I suppose I could move them but prefer not to. I am thinking installing the vents forward of the corner, 12 inches or so. More long and not too deep. And angle the sides so not to interfere with deck drainage ?
What do you think?
Thank you for the link and info.

If only we could harness your youthful exuberance and apply it to our boats.
Absolutely well done, do you moonlight???

I was thinking of using PVC conduit for rigging tubes coming up from the bilge in my Tripp. A half round might work for ventilation.

Yeah you can put them anywhere. One good way to put them on the sides but still aft is to cut a piece of 4" pvc sch. 80 in half and use that. It wont pull as much air out but it will pull air. Down and dirty but they will work.
Great idea. I bet I could use a 6 or 8 inch pvc pipe and cut a 1/3 or 1/4 section out and glass over it.
Thanks for the advise!

I didn't see Mud's post about the PVC but I've seen sections of the larger sizes used for fuel fill line covers running up under the gunnel.

It’s been awhile since I’ve heard anything about youthful exuberance! I’m 65. If I get tired I rest for awhile but I enjoy working on boats so I usually keep going at my slow steady pace.

Got the starboard side struts in after running the bonding wires back from the bulkhead. Also replaced the thru-hulls for my bilge pumps. Wired and plumbed those in and installed the batteries. I should've taken more pics of the bonding and other mounting beforehand. Taking my time trying to make it a little neater.

Finished the engine room a few weeks ago.

Started prepping the cockpit and wheelhouse floor for paint. Pulled the rodholders and cleats and repaired some coring. Had some backing plates made up for the cleats also.

Chris installed the engine Wednesday. Final hook-up next week but I can finish painting when weather allows.
