Everyone here knows what happened to RP Boatworks. Seemingly Richard won't be resurrecting the company but if you have a burning interest in his 31, there may be a chance for you.

Wilbur's line of boats includes a 31 which is just a renamed RP 31. They don't have molds for the 31 but are toying with the idea of using one of their 31s as a plug for a mold. The only thing holding them back is demand - it must be there (and presumably some royalty arrangement with Willis Beal and/or Richard Pinkham).

If someone were to tender a deposit on a 31, Wilbur may very well accommodate them.

That's great to hear. Wilbur's 31 Dorigo line used the RP 31, with a modified shear. When we were looking for hulls, we asked both RP and wilbur for photos of thier 31 in a bass boat configuration ( I didn't know they were the same hull at the time), and wouldn't you know I recieved the exact same photo from each of them. I then test rode a really nice guy's (wish I could remember his name) 31 Wilbur up in Long island to get a feel for it.

It's really a great hull. It's the biggest 31 out their. It holds 12' almost all of the way to the transom. The unnamed guy traded up the 31 for a duffy 36 i think, but he told me he missed the room in the cockpit of the 31.

When we bought the hull, we did the same thing that wilbur did with the shear, and we couldn't be happier with her.

Take care,

DBM
