Running boat from hatteras to NJ

Looking to run my boat from hatteras to NJ, was wondering if anyone has some experience with it? I know that I should steer toward the black "N" on the compass thinking about fuel stops any advice would be appreciated,

32 bhm, 200 gallon tank
3208 cat, not sure of fuel burn, crusies at 12 knots or so

4 or 5 drums on deck and keep going !!! probably get ya to cape may, duck in there, fill up,tie up at Lunds, go have a nice dinner, get up early next morning next stop shark river !!

once you make the turn around the cap u have to inlets obx and rudie i don't recall any others in-between or you can just run the inter costal

Ive done that run. It was fun. We took our time and ran all day - then pulled in 3 times to tie up for the night (once for a mechanical failure that was unplanned, otherwise we were scheduled to stop only twice).



Cape May is the easiest inlet on your route.

Thanks Guys, I'm having second thoughts, looking into winter boat storage in NJ holy smokes!! My plan is to get a trailer and bring it home to work on, was gonna run it up enjoy it a little bit then store it until trailer gets built. If anyone knows a haulout and storage in nj that's not insanely priced please let me know!

I only know Cape May -

South Jersey Marina, Canyon Club - both very expensive.

Utsch's - moderate



Breezeelee - huge storage yard - very reasonable on prices. This is your best bet if they have room.

Just realized I was reading rates wrong, thought it was 800.00 a month!
Called and found out 800.00 for winter season, oct-April,
Much better!

did the run alittle north of hatt. 33 bert, 2 3208's. up to the back of the raritan we burned 192 gallons. Filled when left and filled in atlantic highlands. we averaged 23 knots. The only place i specifically was troubled about an ran on the outside was brigantine shoals.

thats where she sits now. haven't had time to work on it. got pretty F'd in the storm. Just look for the bert with the stick in the cockpit, cant miss it. got some free time next week, maybe i get down there. After your work on everyone elses boats, you loose interest in yours
