Sabre uses a deep-V hull. Built in Maine but not a DE. Sabre is high quality builder and the used ones always show up when you search DE on yachtworld.

I believe the Sabre is a Planing hull, not a displacement.

So, no, not a true DE.

It is a planing hull that is correct - but are we saying that if a boat can plane it is not a downeast...?!?!? They are not mutually exclusive IMHO.

Some DE's can hit thirty knots, no?

PS That boat's a candidate for Awlgrip as well. Ye can see the gelcoat's already starting to go. That'll be another $10k.
