Scupping in mass

What is needed to fish and land scup in massachutes if I come from out of state and want to fish in state waters?

Thanks for the link. What's your guys usually limit per day up there June/July. I'm Thinking about getting a slip for the boat and looking for something to do when i cant get offshore. Weighing my options. Also Do they hand out non resident to anyone that applies?

steveinak, im looking to scup in state waters. not federal. I dont think you can get a federal scup moratorium anymore. unless you buy one from someone getting out of the game for big $$. thanks twister i spoke to the office today.they were very nice unlike the Ny permit office. Anyone have any good drops they want to share PM me. ill be fishing around hyannis west into the vineyard sound.

I think pretty much anywhere of Hardings beach is pretty decent or so im told...or just motor up thru the canal and hit the old target ship its hard not to catch scup/seabass there.

I stumbled upon it because I saw a boat fishing at the tails today on live ships map and was curious who they were. It was the Susan L out of Cape May. She is an 86 foot steel hull scalloper that must also drag.

No idea what she was doing at the tails in about 500 feet by the looks of it. Maybe herring?

I hope your just doing it for fun cause your not going to make shit for money with it. Commercial scup limit at that time is about 1,500 lb trip limit per day, you will be lucky to get 40 cents a lb.

Ill pretty much be doing it for fun ill be making my money Giant fishing. Iv been watching alot of wicked tuna to learn the tricks. ill only be scupping when i cant get to the tuna grounds. 300lb fish X$20 =$6,000
$6,000X 3 fish=18,000 a trip.....Easy money. dot com look out off you stern, ill be there.

I think many others have the same idea as you. I think that is going to fall into the saying of " It is easier said than done". I hope I'm wrong and it works out for ya though.
