Sherwood pump cam's

Hey guys I'm in the midst of some yearly maintenance between seasons here and I'm doing a new impeller and cam's in a Sherwood pump. Got the impeller out but the cams are stuck. I'm afraid I'm going to have to break them apart to remove them,but I'm fearful I'm going to drop pieces in the inlet and create a future issue. I may have to remove supply hose to resolve that issue.

Anyhow, does anyone have a tip on removing stuck cam's?

broke out the can of PB and applied some heat - came out in a few small pieces and a few large pieces. Went back together nicely. On to the next task.

You have to watch the ceramic face seal & bearings & shaft in those pumps. You should yank it out & go through it.
