I'm installing an Octopus Autopilot helm with a Simrad AC12N computer to a Simrad NSS evo 2 Chartplotter. Can I connect the wiring directly to the chartplotter or do I need to use NEMA 2000 cables?

The Evo2 and AC12N have to be connected to the NMEA2000 backbone, the Octopus drive unit gets connected directly to the AC12
Even if I don't have anything else to connect to a NEMA2000 backbone?

Yes, you also need to make sure you have a power insertion on the NMEA2000 network; must supply 12VDC to the bus in order for everything to communicate; it comes with the starter kit included with the AC10N

I bought the NC12 used without NEMA cables. Not sure what I need.
