Anyone ever rig up a spool on a electric hauler to haul back short shots of tile fish gear?
Thanks

I've seen it done with an electric "Bandit" reel with a modified spool for tilefish and shark fishing. fwiw,Jo
I use this setup but it's a little more than it sounds like you are looking for.

If you dont mind me asking are you using tarred line, mono or wire on that rig
Thanks
my email is [email protected] if you dont want to put it online
No worries.....Mainline=1000# LP mono inshore for sharks w/700# leaders and 3/32"/7x7 cable w/500# leaders out in the stream for the tiles.
I mostly use mustad 16/0 circles for the sharks but I sometimes throw my tile gear at them with offset mustads 14/0 with swivels at both clip end and hook end which is a must for the tiles here and still holds a pretty good sized shark. FWIW, Jo

Thanks for the info
Will be setting for sharks at all
My buddy is trying 1/4 tarred line but I'm just afraid there's gonna be to much drag that deep with a 1/4" line
I always though wire was the way to go for tiles in the deep
Thanks alot
