Sound Insulation

Looking for some advice on sound insulation for the new engine hatches we made for my 31' BHM. I've got some pretty heavy lead-core stuff in my DMR, which came w/ the boat and does a hell of a job muffling the 671's. It is about 2" thick with gray foam on each side of a core material and a silver foil on one side. I guess that's what I'm looking for, but first I need to know exactly what product it is and where to get it. Or if there is anything else as good or better. In the BHM, the engine is right underfoot, so even a little 4 stroke diesel makes a lot of noise.

Thanks, Steve. It seems that Soundown has a lot of products. Anyone here who could point me in the direction of exactly what I'm trying to order and a good source. I'm thinking I'm looking f/ 2 pound a foot stuff. Does that sound right? If anyone who has ordered some could chime in, that would be great. The Soundown website was not the best for matching their products to suppliers and what I've found so far with suppliers is pretty spotty. It sees like you can get some of the lighter stuff down here, but not the thick heavier sheets.

Thanks, man. I had seen that but the first time I looked at it, I could not match up the prices w/ the order #'s. The "add to cart" list above the descriptions is lacking some of the described products, but if you navigate it differently, it makes a bit of sense. And they have an 800 number, which is a plus. It would be nice to find it closer to home, but this is a start.

Call them, they are very helpfull and willing to take the time to explain everything. They will also send you free samples of anything you want. I don't believe they make the lead core stuff anymore, the stuff I got has a 1/4 inch or o rubber core.
