Sounder, fish alarm

Anyone use their sounder with the fish alarm on and it works well ?

I have a furuno 582 and I use mine chumming, and it works great. I highly recommend it!

Any idea how to tune the alarm so it's not beeping non stop for every bit of bait, clutter, meaningless marks that come on the screen ?
My 585 beeps mon stop no matter what setting I try.
Great tool to have so you don't have to stare at the screen all day long.

I set the alarm 20-40 feet off the bottom so I don't pick up all that bottom bait....might miss a fish or two but better than the beep beep beep.
