This is the 38 Bertram I fished on in Hawaii. I was a big fan of the boat, perfect sized cockpit, nice setup. We also had a 46' Hatteras which was my absolute favorite, but that is a different class of boat.

1979 Bertram 28 that I restored. Covered a lot of water in it during the 12 years we owned it. Mostly fond memories with a few white knuckle moments in between. ;)

That looks very similar to my 36 Hatt.
Buddy has a 46’ 1993/1994 twin electronic twin turbo DDs. Big difference from Jack Wynn to Jack Hargrave designs

Jack Hargrave designed hulls that were more traditional (warped plane) whereas Jack worked at refining deep V's. I think the biggest change in the later hulls was the transition to cored hulls that made them substantially lighter and better performing.

Still hard to beat the layout and liveability of the 46 Hatt. Not the best sea boat in the world, but a solid performer and pretty efficient for its size. 46' cruising boat that cruises at 20 knots with 900 hp. Not bad.
