speed for bhm

A 25' BHM with a 210 cummins in it, what would be cursing speed and wot. What size wheel should be on it. Looking at one and would like to know. If anyone knows it would be this forum. thanks

There are a few in my harbor with a 225 John deere 6068. they are lobsterboats and WOT is about 21/22 mph. They cruise all day at 18mph. Depending on the gear. 2 to 1 has ... I'm thinking 24 x 24 and the 3 to 1 has 28 x 26

I stand corrected.. I have no idea how 25 got past me..The wheels are for a 32bhm.

I would need to guess a 25 would need more wheel than the 32.

I would need more info to guess at the right wheel for the 25 since I never even seen one. I know they were the original biggest little boats in the bay.

Are you sure you are not posting about a 28 BHM?

I agree with Traditions, 20" wheel reg on a 25 BHM and how the heck would ya fit a 6068 Deere in a 25 BHM ?

Here's an 83 25 BHM I looked over two + years back. I think I measured the wheel @ 20"

Had a 262 Chevy straight 6 and a Borg Warner velvet drive in.
Not a lot of room.

there musta been a dozen 32BHMs go through my harbor over the years.. I think I get a automatic picture of a 32bhm as soon as I see BHM. Maybe the header of the thread triggered that and the 25' in the post didn't even register I would guess a over sqare wheel would be needed. 20 x 26 ??? Who knows what the gear is?

This was the first boat in my quest for a DE to bring to Alaska. This one had a 210 cummins in it and the owner told me it cruised about 12 and ran wide open at 16-18 knots. Seemed kinda slow to me and he already had a buyer when i called on it.

Our 31 BHM 300HP 3126 Cat 2.5:1 Twin disc 2inch shaft 26 x 26 4 blade with a slight cup..15 kts 2350 rpm 19 kts WOT 2850rpm..thats in just about any sea conditions

also load isnt a huge factor either...tower/stand 300 gal of fuel bonar packed with ice...still the same numbers
