Does anyone have a steyr in there lobster boat or am i the only one? If so where do you guys find parts with out breaking the bank. Im in CT and the guys in noank village boatyard wont sell me parts because i dont keep my boat there total bullshit any ideas would be grate.

my sil works for a boat builder. they are talking about using steyr engines. i belive he said the distrutor for them was in fl

It's been a couple of years ago but their was a dealer in FT Lauderdale FL that I bought parts from they were suppling parts for some of the cruise lines lifeboats

pattens yacht yard in Eliot Maine took on the steyr line of engines and ft.lauderdale diesel is the main distributor.

i went for a short ride in a boat today with steyr engines. my sil works for a builder and today was launch day. a pair of 255hp steyr's in a 47 maine cat. it goes pretty good 26kt at a screaming 4500rpm. it is the first diesel i have ever seen that holds a 100psi of oil pressure with the motor up to temp. engine speed and trans are fly by wire

I was speaking to my boss today (Greg Diesel), as I was very interested on us possibly becoming a Steyr Dealer, and he informed me that while they are extremely well designed engine, they are a 6,000 hour engine. That is what he was told by the Austrian founder down at the Miami show when he was asking questions about certain components, and due to their high RPM rating, they are recommended to be overhauled every 6,000 hours, regardless of GPH consumed. Disappointing, as they are very impressive engines when looking at all the spec. sheets.
