Can any share their thoughts?
Quality? Performance? Getting parts? etc...
There is a steyr MO236K43 on ebay with real low hours!
Repowering this winter most likely going to replace my 350 with another but going to give the used diesel market a few months over the winter before I decide.

So, why is someone going to sell a low hour Steyer cheap?

Maybe because there is no local support; parts have to come from overseas; it is a real high hp to displacement engine; the head is cast integral with the cylinders, so no easy top end job.......

Steyr's were hot and heavy for a couple of years on the race circuit, but then BAM nothing more. I think service got the better of them in the end. Haven't seen them at any of the shows in a number of years, over five at least.

Lightweight and high revving for the hp produced.

And I have it on good authority that they will seize up when you dump 70 psi of propane into them...

Guess they should have considered the displacement difference between the small Steyr and the much larger Isotta Fraschini
