Stick built tops vs. molded

So, lets say I might be looking at a boat that has a stick built top rather than a molded design. Basically plywood, definitely shows its age and will need to eventually be replaced. Never realized how well molded tops were, but also realize that doesnt mean they do not need to be replaced either.

So should it scare me away or is it no big deal or what? I just really like the boat and price seems right to me. Seems like it wouldn't be hard to piece together again in a sense. Thanks... Work would be done by me at home.

Think of it this way: You have a pattern to go by and a chance to alter things that you don't really enjoy. Too high? No problem. Too low? No problem. Windshield tipped back too far? No problem.

Little more tricky than replacing some soggy core but with a fresh note pad, a sharp pencil and a ice cold beverage it can be done fairly easily.
