I am trying to add more air to my engine room to help address a QSM air and heat issue.

I have 300 s.i. of vents on the side of the engine room which is depending on your viewpoint marginal or minimal. I am adding more air to the engine room by adding a vent to the aft console which back's onto the engine room as well as having 1 side up against the shaft bilge.

The back wall of the engine room where the aft console backs on it is cluttered with many systems so my yard has added air to the engine room by drilling 2 8" holes from the aft console to the shaft bilge as the pictures show.

The 1st picture shows the shaft bilge; the 2nd picture shows the 2 holes drilled; one into stringer, one into Nidacore divider.

Have these holes compromised the longitudinal stringers and stiffness of my boat?
