Armstrong 4 step here as well. Sturdy enough to get my fat ass up it in full dive gear.

I wanted to see what guys are doing for swim ladders off the back of full size downeast boats. Sometimes we like to pull up to an offshore pot and go in with the spear gun. And I'm also in need of something solid and secure for the beach days with the family and friends. We don't have a swim platform. Chuck wouldn't put it back on!!!!!!!:p
I have one of those Stainless Steel ladders that lies on my swim platform…just flip it over into the water

3 or 4 Step Armstrong dive ladder is about the easiest and least intrusive.

Mount the receiver directly centered below the door.

We have done it on multiple boats, DEs and Sportfish.

Works well easily stowable.

Pic below is the mount below the door. This is a Windline ladder, but same concept.

I have a set up like this (but with no Tuna door) on my General Marine 26. Has worked great for me. Stows upright in a wet locker up forward, but could also be stowed under the deck or under the V-berth. Ladder is stout and the bracket is unobtrusive.

This is the set up we have on our SeaVee. Edit: Wanted to add that the hatch does close with the ladder deployed. There's some seriously skilled builders here It would be cool to see this applied to a DE.

Armstrong four step.
I don't believe you can find a more rugged, easy to deploy or retreive dive ladder.
By the way, the ladder removes for inside cockpit or cabin storage

Ha, I always forget to take mine off before I get going. I’ve had one of those on my Dyer 29 and it has held up very well.

I have a tuna door on my Flowers and the divers have no problem getting onboard with a kick of their fins. Regular swimmers not so much. Maybe I’ll put an Armstrong ladder on this boat too

Your boat was docked close to my slip in Salisbury Ma for years. The owner harvested a lot of lobster with the boat !
She’s a great boat! I put a lot of work into her over the winter, hopefully she will have a good long life taking out divers and fishermen. There’s Bruno dive boat on the same dock and a Bruno commercial fishing vessel that puts a ton of meat on the table

Try climbing in your boat from the water unaided. If you can't do it, you need a tuna door that can be opened from outside or permanant steps or ladder.
