I figured it was now or never. Did a quick best as I could sand and wipe and painted the battery area and storage area under the helm a coat of Total Boat bilge paint.
Tight space and a pain in the ass but worth it I think.
The hair took a beating.
Needed a haircut anyway.

Not much left in the tank some days but Denso Tape was quick and painless so that's done.

Slow progress. Lots of deadlines this time of year.
Good to have this chore behind me.
Like everything on this boat, even the bus heater hoses are oversized so had to upgrade to 3/4" valves for 5/8" hose barbs.

May think of using steel fittings for the bus heater. Especially the long nipple. I seem to remember issues with fatigue cracks with brass/bronze.

Just went with what Tony says. I would have used a shorter nipple up top after seeing how high it is but in thinking it through getting the valve cover off might be possible with the ball valve higher so it will stay.
I have to start letting my brain think a new owner will worry about the future.
