I was traveling through Haverhill Ma. earlier today on Interstate 495 N and passed the rest area just before the Merrimac Ma. line.

I gave a quick look and saw an O'Hara's boat hauler with a good size DE on the back.

So what do I do???, get off at the next exit, head south, get back on north and "stop in the rest area.

The guy hauling the boat was stretching a bit so I stopped and chatted with him. He said the boat was a 34-35 Mitchell Cove (no doubt had the lines of a Mitchell Cove) in CT for the summer with the owner and was now "heading back to Maine for a repower".

There is an Isusu Diesel powered sticker on the port side window. It's a real nice boat. I have two pics on the iphone camera, can't figure how to get them downloaded to here.

Stern ID is MDS 32001302.

Maybe a "32 MC", boat looked real big out of the water and on the hauler.

Travis?? this boat heading back to your place for a new Isusu ?? :D

32 Mitchell cove with a sisu diesel she was built to race. Are you doing the motor job in that boat Travis.
Boat is very clean it is kept couple towns down from me. We came close to buying that boat when it was sitting up in Christmas cove area. Motor is set back in it. Fast boat what I here.

SISU!!!
geez
and yes, just offloaded her

SORRY, was more interested in the boat!!!!!

Besides, if it ain't a Cummins emblem/sticker I don't pay too much
attention !:D

So that was a 32 Mitchell Cove. Look BIG on the hauler but I had a notion it was a 32 after looking @ the hull ID#

1st time I see one up close and the f..ker has to be on the Interstate "highway" 2 miles from my house !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:(

If that boat was built for racing the owner otta take of the prop cage!!

What's going in for the repower and what happened to the motor that's in it ???

Gonna get me a ride on one in the water before the season's over !!

Yes and a few odds and ends as well while it is here.
Quite quick back in the day.
And the first thing I noticed when she rolled in?
Damn nuts are on backwards

Thanks for the pics Travis.
I usually have my camera with me, no dice yesterday.

I see Clorox bottles and the occasional Hinckley going north and south but not many real boats :)

Travis, can you do me (and the forum) a favor and document with pics this repower on the forum?

An earlier posted mentioned the engine was "set back".

Can ya take some pics of the engine placement, deck layout and forward cabin ??

Why the repower? Just Time? This boat built lighter for racing? Nice looking hull.

Just going to open it up and go through the systems, no big deal. New gasket here, fresh coat of paint there, be good as new.

Seems rugged to me

And I measured the top, including the area forward of the steering bulkhead it's 65"

Travis,

Next time you have your camera handy would you get some interior forwar cabin shots with dimenesions? Overhead height, enclosed head (if it has one) etc.

Also, what is the "standard top" length out of the mold @ Ohara's ??

Thanks, Bill

btw, "SISU" diesels....race engines???? Got on their website, industrial engines out-of-the-Finland?
Anything "unique" about SISU compared to other marine diesels?

Travis, what do you like about them...other than being a dealer:rolleyes:
