Got bulkhead seat made up & mounted.
Swings on top of the engine box which is cut down to 8 inches high now and out of the way.
Need to drill a handful of holes for different positions I want it fixed at.
I can see I'll be driving with my feet kicked up on the dash and in comfort :D

Will be removing it again and a whole bunch of other things tomorrow then a bunch of grinding & sanding and should be all gelcoated sometime over the weekend.

Looks good, I will probably have to do a similar bulkhead mount to keep a hatch clear on the new boat. I was wondering how you keep the seat mount from swinging.

"Need to drill a handful of holes for different positions I want it fixed at."

Could you explain this?

Through the I beam into the bracket for a pin to keep it from swinging.

If you put several holes, would you be sacrificing too much strength of the bracket? Is this the typical way used to lock the chair from swinging?

I have the mount from Tight Lines Tackle......it comes with just one hole and a stainless pin to keep it in the straight position.....it's a nice mount

I just looked at the pic on their website. It is hard to see the pin, but it does look nice. I don't think I would need to lock in any position other than straight in front of wheel, or possibly all the way over to keep the seat free of the hatch.

I also decided to scrap the plan for a custom exhaust elbow and instead cut a hole in the top of the engine box on top of the exhaust pipe location.
This hole will be incorporated into a tackle station/storage unit I'm going to make to mount on top of the rear part of the engine box.

Looks good Ron, I see you modified that mount. Did you find the Durilyn or like to make the washers ?

I got the Ibeam part of the mount from a member here with no seat pole welded to it. He even had the angle parts of the bunkhead mount cut up & drilled. I just had to set it up, drill thru holes & welded it up solid.
I took a seat pole I bad, notched it so it overhangs the back of the mount a bit (wanted all the length I could get) made up a corner gusset and welded it up.
I went looking the Durilyn or some other kind of PVC 1/4 sheeting to make up the (2) 4inch discs/washers.
Ended up sacrificing (2) 4 inch 1/4 think discs from a wheel bearing seal installer set that I had in one of my tool boxes.
Plastic discs are hard as hell & just as slippery, a bit too slippery !
Thus the need to dill a handful of holes to pin the mount in the positions I'll use it the most.
A bit more sandblasting in the cabinet of the seat base, bulkhead mount & backing plate and I'll epoxy prime & paint (Gray) when I paint the electradyne hauler and a few other aluminum things.

on my dad's old 32 BHM he had the same seat post but mounted it to a 6"x6" post so the seat hung further out, he's 6'4"!
