Interesting; I wonder how many people do six point mounting on their engine installs. You don't see it down here so much. Is that a common through hull/valve between the engine and hauler. If so, a seacock would be better.
The original finisher put that ball valve in they scare me and my insurance company to death! We only use seacocks here and most customers want to go the cheap route but they have to install it theirselves. As far as the 6 point mounting we hate to take a red gear off and have to suspend the engine some how and not mounting the red gear is a no-no. Good for business but still a no-no
Bill no cutting required just removed the heat exchanger and ZF oil pump. Had to put in on a 45 deg angle nose first the drop the rear down. This motor is a little one compared to a 16lt Scaina or C18 cat
