Looks like a good gas power replacement package. I doubt it's rated commercial duty though, but I could be wrong. Depending on how much you will be using the boat it could be a good choice for the money. Looks like a good candidate for my Coastal project, when I get to that point. I will have to research this one further. Thanks!

Ive done a bit of shopping, this is a really good price for a engine, gear, harness and even ships for free..

Bill,

IMO I'd do a bit more "shopping" on this QSD 230 package over on boatdiesel.com

Think about it.
QSD 230 hp / 2.8 liters = 85 hp per liter displacement
6BT 210 hp/ 5.9 liters = 35.6 hp per liter displacement
LOTS of heat to dissipate 230 hp over 2.8 liters of aluminum

The QSD 230 is a GREAT motor for dock boats.

If you want to get on the water and run hard...well the math speaks for itself.

good friend of mine had that combo on a charter boat. Had a lot of problems with it and missed a lot of charters. He replaced it after a season or two. When I first seen it I thought with the cummins name it should be a good package. I was wrong.........

Bill,

the Cummins/Mercuiser marriage went through a divorce a couple of years back.

The QSD 2.8 was one of the offspring. Poor thing, it's an orphan now. !
I'm not sure the QSD line is still available.

Here's an abbreviated spec sheet.
