Guys,

Going to check this boat out next week and wanted to get your feedback.

1999 Northern Bay Hardtop Hard Top Express Power Boat For Sale -

Broker confirms only 221 hours on the 1999 Volvo TAMD, claiming owner had 2 other boats as well as other interests. Does this little use on a 12 year old engine become a concern?

Also, broker claims that she will cruises @ 2100 rpms at 20 kts with a fuel burn of 10 gph.....seems a bit low:rolleyes:. What is realistic #?

Boat will be used for primarlily fishing (inshore & some offshore) as well as family cruiser. Definitely more frills than I need, but appeals to the admiral and 5 daughters for the time they spend on it:rolleyes:

Any other input appreciated.

Thanks

I have one with a QSM 11 670.
At 1850 RPM she cruises @21 kts with a 12 gph fuel burn.

I wouldn't have a problem owning that boat.

The person to ask is Mike, TUNAORLATER.
He has the same engine in his NB 36. I'm sure he has solid speed & fuel burn number for this setup

Sounds like a great deal. Pending a inspection and sea trial.

Those numbers and fuel burn sound good.

the low engine hours is fine if A good mechanic has been maintaining the engine.

She is a pretty boat, would be a nice jump up from my 25' Parker. Just trying to educate myself as much as possible before taking the ride downtown see her in person.

Nice engine. My buddy had same engine in a 40 Young Brothers lobster/yacht flybridge.

Motor is a simple design. Not too much electronics on the motor.

Easy to purge air out of the fuel lines.

I would NOT be worried about low hours on the engine internals.

Sea water cooling side should be gone through.

Pretty boat.

For sale add says 1800 RPM @21 KTS burning 18gph....confused:confused:
Flow rate on cluster says 18 gph when running. When you fill it up & do the calculations it's about 12 gph. I filled it yesterday. It took 177 gallons for 15 hrs of run time.
