Tired of stuff falling in the hollow keel

Seems like i'll always be fishing junk out of the hollow keel in my boat so i got a idea and made up a guard/tray out of 1/2"x1/2"vinyl coated wire i had laying around from making chum pots, at least the big stuff should be stopped. The trap wire guard above it is around the clutch and hydraulic pump for the pot hauler, that spinning shaft and u-joints always scared me whenever i was anywhere near them:eek:

I call that particular phenomenon "the bilge effect"
Everything can and will go down there at some point, usually just after you've fished something out

Why don't you guys come up with something to stop that from happening. Wouldn't take much look what a dumb polack like me did;) When i was in Gloucester last year i bought one of those flexible grabbers they sell at harbor freight. Wish i could open one of those up here!!
