had to make a delivery yesterday so took a ride down along Turnagain Arm it runs off of Cook Inlet and stopped by a buddies place where the boat was growing out of the snow. Tide was just starting to come in so all that ice would be floating in a few hours, high tide was listed at 28.1 feet of water and low water was listed as 0.1 !! Lot of water has to go somewhere !!

Beautiful landscape there. I think we are so beaten down by the cold and snow that no one wants to comment... 28' tide? Where is that?

Yup thats it 36' between low & high water. I'd guess more than 36 rungs

Bloody hell, that's a long way down if you miss the first rung?.

I think I'll stick with the tides in Newfoundland, averages about 1.2 meters.(4ft)

That's exactly what I was thinking looking at the pictures; what a nice day to be out in the snow on a snowmachine. I only get to see that area in the summer, so I really enjoy getting to see winter pictures.

Yeah all those nice mountains and valleys to play on !!! His place is about 1 1/2 miles in on the road that goes to the whittier tunnel, its a campground that he's living at watching it for the owner. He actually cleared off the land for the campground, its a inholding in chugach park. He's got to get out of there this spring so he bought some land in Indian where he'll be building a home and a shop for his business, he has the towing contract for whittier and girdwood and also tows from Indian to Moose Pass when he gets a call from the troopers. He's one of those guys that can work on just about any engine diesel or gas and fix it all.
