I have a new transducer and was wondering if i should paint it with transducer paint or some kind of protectant to prevent growth. What are the pros and cons ?

I applied 2 coats of the stuff hamilton's sells last season on my transducers and it was a waste of money. Made no difference, same amount of growth as the season before.

We used this stuff last year and was the first time we've had a transducer coating actually work. Made by the people at PropSpeed and recommended by Airmar.

Thanks guys for your response. I think I'm going to try prop speed for my transducer and also try their coating for under water lights.
