trawl winches

Does anybody have any knowledge on trawl winchs. I am looking for a set. Would like to have 2 seperate style winches that I can power out and power in hydraulicly. They Need to hold around 500 to600 ft of 5/16 wire rope. Thanks for help

How are you going to power the Hydraulics? Are you going to use a PTO off the engine? Net drum too? This is important when sizing the set up.

Usually you set the gear by free spooling the winches. So you also need brakes. So now you need a clutch on the winch. All of this is usually built in the winch, but you need to make room for everything to fit. Especially the piping/hoses.

If you look in Boats and Harbors, you can find some good leads. Locally up this way, RI Engine in Pt Judith and Pine Hill Equipment in Westport, Ma. do a lot with fishing boats and hydraulics.

Thanks for info, yes I believe I need to find 2 stage pump to run each winch. I will be only running the winches at the same time. Yes the boat has a driveshaft with pump now signal stage. Trying not to spend the 5 G's on true trawl winches. I have small trawl winch now with brakes only holds 300ft 5/16 wire rope. If I have to I can cut apart and widen them out.
