Twist
Thanks to everyone following the building of Twist. I have always had a busy shop with Building and restorations of down east boats. When the economy tanked we just got busier with restorations and conversions. Twist was originally named Hazel W. III and was purchased by a Swiss owner in 2011 at which time I was contracted to begin the transformation. Twist was originally built as a working lobsterboat and mussel dragger. The construction is edge nailed mahogany using bronze and monel ring nails. This is all original. The framing is White oak and mahogany. The hull is sheathed with fiberglass cloth using west system, then faired and painted with awl grip. The cabin, top and washrails are foam core composite with a awl grip finish. As progress is moving along, I will post pictures more often
