Very nice attention to detail Bob.

Can't believe that is carvel planked. Looks like fiberglass. Is the topsides glassed over wood and faired out....and also the thruster area faired and reinforced glass or is it just finished perfectly?

Teak madness! Cant wait to see it all finished if possible. Lots of teak.

Love the "island" behind the helm too. Looks like you could throw a football in the cockpit too.

The folding transom is trick all the way. Always thought it would be a cool idea, Just think about a cruise weekend and blowing the inflatable into the pit at 20 knots.

Pretty build, Keep the pictures coming.

"Hazel W." was a beautiful boat as a working lobster boat and always well cared for. It is just as beautiful as a working cruiser. Well done.

Twist

Thanks to everyone following the building of Twist. I have always had a busy shop with Building and restorations of down east boats. When the economy tanked we just got busier with restorations and conversions. Twist was originally named Hazel W. III and was purchased by a Swiss owner in 2011 at which time I was contracted to begin the transformation. Twist was originally built as a working lobsterboat and mussel dragger. The construction is edge nailed mahogany using bronze and monel ring nails. This is all original. The framing is White oak and mahogany. The hull is sheathed with fiberglass cloth using west system, then faired and painted with awl grip. The cabin, top and washrails are foam core composite with a awl grip finish. As progress is moving along, I will post pictures more often

Actually the Hazel W III was strip planked using Philippine mahogany ....1 1/4" x 1 3/8". The construction was like this. The only caulking was 5200 on the gar-board strip.
