About a year ago I had posted about researching the perfect boat for my family. Something in the 22 to 23 foot range, outboard, lobster top and a relatively simple boat. It is something that would sit in some soft mud at low tide or may be out on a mooring. I got a reply from a gentleman who wasn’t quite ready to sell but I thought it met all of my needs, no pressure, just throwing it out there as an option. It was love at first sight! It looked beautiful, seemed efficient, and after sending a few messages back-and-forth and learning a little bit more about its history I knew that it was well taken care of by the owner. Well today we made it happen as he was able to launch his project boat, the Bruno, the other day!

Vin, @Keelboater , Took my family out for a great ride out the mouth of the Connecticut River into Long Island sound. Lots of debris floating around because of all the rain and a high tide! The boat performed beautifully and I was astonished at how large this boat feels for only 22 feet! My kids are so excited to go on new adventures where we can beat the tide, coming from a 19 foot sailboat to this boat with 150 hp Suzuki on her. By the afternoon we were trailering her back north to New Hampshire and I hope to launch on Friday mid day and be able to get to know her a bit more.

If it wasn’t for this forum and The folks on it, this dream wouldn’t have come true that’s for sure. Everyone should definitely get some of the Sweet threads that are available so you can be as cool as us geeks!
Thanks again Vin!

Smart man to raise them on a boat. Lessons learned on the water carry over into life and its an advantage plus you get to spend time with them out in nature rather than near a phone or tv. Great work!

Great pictures! It was nice to meet you and your family today. Enjoy the new boat and make some wonderful memories with those kids! I'm glad you had a safe trip back to NH. Believe it or not, it was raining before I even made it home, so we timed it perfectly.

Launched her today and brought her to our home dock. Lots of things to figure out but she is sitting in the luscious mud beautifully now. I sat there all afternoon watching the marsh drain and then become a mudflat. She sat right down in like it was meant to be. Of course the neighbors are now coming by to take a look at this beauty.

Towed very nicely from the CT shore through the potholes of Worcester to NH. Also I love the stealth hitch I put on, doesn’t even look there is a hitch until you put the ball attachment on that takes literally seconds to do.

Great part of the story is from the sellers point of view. He knows his baby his going to a good home and will be used and well cared for! Win Win Win Win Win (your wife and kids are winners too!)

This past weekend the tide was about right to get the kids out of bed and go for a coffee cruise across Great Bay up the Lamprey to Newmarket. We made egg wraps when we started into the no wake zone (entire river to Newmarket). The “town dock” is about one boat length but rafting is permitted  right behind the fish weir.
