After about 10 seconds of running the 6 inch bow thruster, it slow to about half speed.

Start with the basics first: Check all connections and condition of wires. The current may be causing something to heat up and increase the resistance in the circuit.

Is it on a separate battery? I had the same issue, the separate battery for the bow thruster was dead. New battery fixed my issue

Go,right up to the 12v power connections on the thruster. Run thruster and watch for voltage drop. After 10 sec of you go below 11.4 you found the problem.its the battery or power connections. If the contractor gets hot then it could be the contact breaking down.
