I think this is the engine tunaorlater had in his 1st NB 36. Not sure if you'll hear from him before the storm hits but he'd be a good source of first hand feedback.

Yes I did. For the 36 nb the engine is a little on the heavy side at around 3500lbs with the gear but the engine is an animal, I would not lose 10 rpms when I went from half fuel to six guys and a full canyon load.i never hada single issue besides a burnt out bearing on the tensioner pulley in the 5 years I owned it and he new owner has had it for 4 seasons trouble free. That block is now the d12 and d13 engines putting out up to 900hp. Upkeep is the most important thing just like all diesels. They are known to have well over 20k hours on draggers and other commercial boats. The 37 Duffy holds wieght forward much better hen the nb so the engine is probably a pretty good fit, optimum Volvo for the nb I think is the d9 or d11.

Just sitting here in my work truck waiting for the storm............

Guys thanks for the replies. Unfortunately I got a call last night and the guy decided not to sell her. This boat shopping is fun but stressfull. When you find the perfect boat and can't close the deal
