volvo TAMD61A parts supplier

Unfortunately had a little melt down and will be needin a new main engine harness along with fuel shut off solenoid and relays etc.

Where is the best source for older volvo parts? Thanks for any insight.

I've always used Marine Parts Express out of Maine for my TAMD41PA. Most of the people there are helpful, although there is one guy there that is not helpful. I wish I could remember the one name.

McDonnell Marine in Conn. has always been good to me with parts and advice. Look on boatdiesel.com for their website and info, they are sponsors on that site.

Never had an interaction with McDonnell but funny enough the guy that has an agreement on my boat has them coming out Thursday to do the inspection on the engine...

I was ordering parts from them a few years ago and mentioned something about my engine/turbo and the guy says "you need to talk with my mechanic on that but he's on a call right now" so i figured i'd call him the next day or so, well not 15 minutes go by and the mechanic calls me and we bullshitted about 41 volvos for i bet a good 45 minutes!! Good folks at McDonnell as far as i'm concerned and they know plenty about those 41's.

I dont know, but I've had more than one issue with the guy and if JD didn't clear them up I would have been gone from them. I've called JD from offshore and have had the parts and everything I needed at the dock when I've gotten in. That is the type of company I like to deal with. Its tough when fishing late and business close to still be able to get them done. Some of us do not work 8-5's anymore.

Thanks for the leads - McDonnell was very helpful - will be ordering the parts from someone next week - i will report back my findings from dealing with several suppliers for these parts - Anyone have any ideas/reasons why a fuel shut off solenoid would be so expensive? Seems like a fairly straight forward actuater to me but I really don't know just surprised at the cost. hopefully back fishing soon
