So I have a rule 3700 centrifugal pump that's working at 20% capacity . I think it might be clogged with grass/seaweed . I can only see the back end of it and its going to be a chore working on this thing in the space that I have. I think they built the boat around the pump ! Anyway , before I destroy it trying to get it out I wanted to know if anyone knows how they come apart for cleaning . Maybe I can do that without total removal . Thank you RUL17A-2T.jpg

Im not sure what you mean by the 2 red tabs . I see a red tab at the top . Is there one on the bottom ? What are those rectangular ears s to speak about ? I wish I had one of these to hold in my hands . Like I said very difficult to see and get at on the boat .

looks like there are red tangs that go into the white sockets. Probably a small screw driver or something to disengage.

Yes, push in the red tangs and it will slide apart. This is a bilge pump with a different base. Usually you do not need a tool to separate the base from the pump.

Rule sells the base separate, might be able to find it on their websited.

There are six screws in the end cap. Three are short which hold the white end cap on, three are long which hold the red base on.
