I know this has been discussed before, but I can't find it. Which Gel Coat for a final coat? Going to be a rough finish, not shiney. Is no wax gel coat ok? Someone told me it won't fully cure and now I'm scared.

Use a waxed gelcoat for your finish so it will cure properly. If you use un waxed then you will have to inhibit the oxygen on the surface so it will cure.

Last coat unwaxed or it will be sticky for a very long time.

THIS IS INCORRECT!!!......no wax if you want to do multiple coats.....then last coat must have wax or sprayed with PVA to cure....another trick to ad shine is to ad patch aid to the last coat...it will shine nice

Wax, no wax, wax, no wax,..............................

What the heck is "patch aid" ????????????????????:(

Duretech seals the final coat of waxed gelcoat great! Seems to cure a lot "harder" than just straight waxed gc.

Btw. Patchaid contains wax so if you add it you do not need to add wax. Patchaid is great stuff if you want a good finish
