Hi, I am looking to buy a late 80s Webbers Cove 22' (Webco 22) to use in Long Island Sound off Mystic and Stonington, CT. I hope to make occasional runs to the Connecticut River and Orient and Montauk in Long Island. I plan to have my 12 and 8 year old kids with me. Is this boat too small for regular use in this area of the Sound? I own a 27' Larson 270 cabin cruiser. Will the smaller Webco be any improvement as far as ride comfort and safety are concerned in the Sound? I am not at all interested in speed and want to use the boat to leisurely explore the local coastline. What kind of chop can the boat handle? Is it primarily a sheltered bay boat? Any feedback would be very much appreciated. Any Webbers Cove owners out there who could chime in? Thanks a ton in advance for your advice.

I have an outboard power 22 webco . It has a 175 outboard . Boats kept in Westbrook , I've fished off of montaulk , trailered to Cape ran in bay and outside. Boat handles great in chop.

I have a 22 sisu with a small diesel and two small kids and the wife. Its roomy for a day boat. The webco is similar. I can tell you the webco is way cooler than a larson!

22 foot 1983 bass boat
hi ,i have a 1983 22foot sisu bass boat, with a 115 hp 4 stroke outboard. in decent weather it will not be a problem.it should chew up head seas like a champ.on your longer trips, make sure you study the forcasts.although its a good boat, its still only a 22 foot, that can easily be overmatched by the sea

Tuckerman...what kind of speed do you get out of the Webco 22 with the 175? I've been looking for an outboard powered Webco 22 for a while now...no luck. They sure are pretty little boats.

I cruise at 20-22 kts top speed is @30 kts. Prop is wrong so it will probably do a little better.

Close , East river in Madison between I95 and rt.1 . I could only go up river tide to high to go under rt 1. It was a test ride in spring.
