Last time I spoke to Billy was about 2 years ago. He had a nice 34 Calvin Beal I was interested in. He was pretty fed up with the brokerage business last time at that time and was thinking of getting out of it.

My personal opinion was that he was very expensive to sell your boat and some of the prices he set boats at we're completely out of wack. We wanted to put my webbers cove for sale for 30,000 more than it was worth on a good day

I was wondering the same thing actually!

I emailed him looking for a console and never heard back from him about four or five days ago. Didn't bounce back either so I know he got it.

Market timing wise, 2007-2009 was not the time to be in the business.
Ask any marine dealership.

I believe after he did the boat brokerage he went into the fish cutting house business and them after that he went into the lobster bait business. He probably is out of that now too and into something else???? Billy loves new experiences. Always wants to learn from the best too so you know he's right up there in smarts in whatever he is into at the time.

I'm surprised he never joined up here. He loves DE boats!

Billy popped in and commented someplace here on DEBF. He just said he has moved on from that occupation. I believe he said there was more stress involved with it than can be imagined. He is still in the lobster bait business as of this past season even though I tried getting bait from him. No return calls from him on my calls etc?????? Never got any bait. I felt like I was wasting my time attempting to get bait from him so I stopped attempting.

32' Carroll Lowell

That 32' Carroll Lowell design is a beautiful boat. John Karbott built it on spec. John built the hull in 2008, about the time that the economy tanked. The boat is still available. He recently had a serious customer interested in having it finished as a lobsteryacht with a FPT diesel. Unfortunately, His potential buyer didn't understand the value of owning a brand new wooden boat that is custom finished. This hull is indoors at John's shop in Manomet.
