1) The whale surfaces on the up wind side of the boat and blows. The people in the boat are covered with yuk from the whale blow. Also get a large amount of whale breath. Myself and many people on this board can attest to how bad whale breath is when you are down wind of it.

2) The whale has a Moby Dick moment comes up under the boat and all goes bad.

Floyd, "The whale has a Moby Dick moment comes up under the boat and all goes bad" . I thought in the movie Dick Rammed the boat . I don't remember if I ever saw him breach under the Pequod. OH !!, wait, would that matter ?? Becides, that pic. is a Humpback I think and Moby was a sperm whale. Yeah I know, pick, pick.

Oh great thanks for that. That means he /she will float if I get a chance to stick it. JK !! I really like seeing whales when fishing their beautiful Mammals. I have had Humpbacks right under my boat while on the hook and although I had some concern they knew I was there and even rolled a flipper for me. Beautiful !!

Let me clarify my post above. Yes it is an amazing picture. What I was trying to say was what could happen when the whale came to the surface in the picture.

On the south shore of Long Island we are fishing for bluefin and yellowfin tuna with the whales a lot of times. Large red circles on the depth finder under the boat.
