Here's my view from the helm a couple of weeks ago. The fog can play tricks on your eyes, ears and mind out there. This shot was taken near Chandler's Cove at Chebeague Island. I would estimate visibility at about 25 feet.

Hey, at least you could see the surface of the water... Here's a similar pic just after pulling out of Lock #17, headed back East on the Erie Canal. Just as the fog cleared, there were bass boats fishing all over - man did I (they) get lucky...

...and me with no radar :eek:

I here ya can't stand it. I lost my GPS about half way down the CT river past railroad bridge still til today can't figure out how I didn't hit anything going out to the sound. And I had no radar either.

Fog and thunderstorms wipes out loran, my dad had a Micrologic that stayed up all day while others were using raynavs and furuno.

Hell yeah field tester. Get a pit in my stomach when I knwo it's gonna be that kind of night.

Traditions I bet you see more in one week than I will see my entire summer. I always figured if it was foggy more often than I would get much more comfortable with it. I don't even blink runing at night now after 7 years of it.
