What annoys me more than the show is how people talk about it like its real life.

This is a staged, scripted, and highly edited drama. It is not real life.

Sure, those crews are professional fisherman, they do catch bft as a part of their livelihood (although all do other things in when the giants don't run), they do sell fish, and they do reel them in. They even sound like idiots on more than one occasion just like we do.

BUT, they don't do what you see on the show. Who here thinks it would take an hour to bring in even even a large blue shark on a 130 including burning through a deck hand and passing it off?

And Richie rich is straight out of central casting. Bad boy tuna.com wasn't quite annoying enough last season so they did a casting call and upped the ante.

About the only true thing from last nights episode was the demonstration that once again, leaving a bunk with blankets and pillows (even third grade motif) in plain site is bad for fishing. ;)

It doesn't appear the pin wheel is documented. That boat has to be 12-15 tons (at least what mine is).

How does a comm fishing boat that large get away with a state reg?

Donnelle built boat. All Canadian boats are state registered. Do a quick search and you can figure out the loop hole they all use. All the big dixons out there are state registered as well.

Not sure, but we got a 44 foot scalloper in our yard, nice hull. He doc'd as REC.

Whats with the f/v now on tunas stern ?

You want to talk about reg, can't even read marcianos boat name now

The FV is supposed to be so he can get around starkists objections (they own tuna.com domain name) and to get people to his website (fvtuna.com).

So the state reg thing is a jones act dodge? Figures.

As for being documented as "rec", last time I checked if you fished a "Rec" endoresemt (only rec) commercially your boat is subject to forfeit.

Thats a lot of risk for no gain.

I bet the money they make on the show allows them to fish all summer, worry free.

I wish I could convince my wife that tuna fishing was a great source of income. Great for our marriage too.

In June, bye honey see you in november.
