Use a finish designed for green wood like the kind you would use on a deck. The dust is very toxic so cover up & remove all dust before the horses drink the water.

Arent the horses always eating away at the stalls here and there (just wondering about them eating PT and varnish)? Wonder ifthis might deserve more thought. Maybe no finish if its pressure treated wood?

Pics?

Absolutely. Was going to mention it but i do not know a thing about horses and thus don't know if they would chew on the oil and get sick. But from just a wood perspective, oil is the only way to go.

Looks surprisingly good for varnished PT. Think I might have replaced the wood before stripping it because I hate sanding and PT is cheap.

Doesnt really look like the horses are there long enough to eat the wood.

More coats?
