The below is a photo of a 240 Yanmar exhaust nipple. It connects the exhaust manifold to the dry side of the turbo charger. If you have this set up & it has more than 1500 hours or 10 years it may fail like this one did. The part is about $700.00 and well worth the cost before a failure at sea.
Some companies make a replacement part in stainless Steel. However it would not recommend using SS it is to strong which could cause a failure elsewhere in the system.
In addition with the same service limits. Transmission coolers without a zinc pencil is a second time bomb. Transmission coolers are cheap and should be changed every ten years to avoid salt water getting into the gear.
