This is a running takeout. We purchased the boat on 10/30/2020 and ran it 4 hours on 11/1/20 back to our home port for haul-out. No operational issues . We will be re-powering with more HP in our Nauset 35 as a total refit. The engine survey was done on 12/6/2019 by a potential buyer and was shared by the seller. At the time of the survey, 1022.7 engine hours were recorded.

Engine:
1996 Yanmar 6LP-STE , 300 HP

1058.7 hrs

Gear
Velvet Drive 2:1 with 8 degree down angle.

Misc. equipment
( 1 ) Yanmar instrument panel, used, with engine hours as noted.
( 1 ) Yanmar instrument panel, brand new, never installed , with harness, in wrapper.
( 1 ) wiring harness approximately 15' from flybridge. cut at butt splices.
( 1 ) Yanmar service/owners Manuel .

See video below running home at cruise in the Nauset. 12 kn.

Asking $ 12,500 or best offer .

it should be mounted on a stand this weekend will post a running video when possible but I thing the running home at cruise says more about this engine that watching it idle.

Thanks for the interest.

Tom

I asked Tad at Dyer if this would fit my 29 footer, his reply

Somehow confirm the year tho.

I didn't think this engine was available until 97 or early 98.

Might be a 6LY @ 315hp which would more desirable & still fit.

But, the tag clearly shows it is a 6lp-ste, but year?

I’m fairly certain it was a 1996 but I could be off one year. It is definitely as you said a 6LP - STE.. I suppose confirmation can be made by the serial number. It’s also visible in the tag.

My exact thoughts. Would be a great repower for my Dyer29. Just spent a ton of money on a new truck

Still available. Easily makes max RPMs. Execute the upcoming 1200 hr service while its out and on the skid and continue on with its reliable service . A reasonable offer will not be refused. On skid and will load. As noted above, the engine and gear have run 1058 operating hrs.
