Just curious as to why Mack Boring is blowing these motors out at this price, is something going to take its place in the line-up?

The agreement between Scania and Yanmar will be over. This is a great engine. We ordered too many.

Is it mental that when this add came up I started looking for hulls to put one in?

I can get any transmission ratio you like. This one is in stock and ready to go. There would be an upcharge for a different ratio.

I now have 5 of these engines for sale. I'll be at the mystic wood boat show this weekend if anyone wants to talk.

I'm really ignorant when it comes to diesels. How is it that a diesel is only approved for pleasure and 6 pack charters only?

I can't tuna fish with this engine?

The engine is pleasure rated. You can use it for anything you want but Yanmar will only warranty it for pleasure use or 6 pack commercial use.

Never heard of that.

Was going to use it for a diesel powered strap-on but this warranty breaks the deal. :D

When you are making money with a boat, you are required to have some sort of commercial rating (light duty thru continious). The EPA tests pleasure rated engines for 1000 hours and they must past their emmission test. A commercially rated engine has to pass a 10000 hour test. This makes the engines more expensive due to the testing.

I'm bumping this as we are getting close to repower season. These can also go in new boats.
