They quit making these a few years ago. They were used mostly around the oil fields because high flash point fuels were not safe.

there was another diesel outboard mfr back in the 80s, can't recall the name

I was wonering where the motor was as it would make a nice kicker on my boat and have both the maine diesil engine and the kicker running on disiel just makes scence.

what does not make sence is that it is in Klaipeda, default, Lithuania.


Just a little bit far from Maine.

I believe they turned out to be a real pain in the ass to run. I spent a month on board a tug boat that had one on its skiff. Chief Engineer at the time wouldn't let me play with it. Sad they didn't even practice good engineering by running it every week. God forbid if you ever needed it!

Someone else I think is trying to come out with one now, followed it on another board.
