You said you were going to add a "quick link" to drop the block lower. So I was thinking the more distance you put between the davit arm attachment point and the block, the further out of plane the block can swing. But looking at your set up, I'm guessing you'd never want the davit to be able to swivel anyway because the motor enclosure would contact the house, so my idea isn't really applicable. And since the davit is already out of plane with the hauler plates, a little extra length between it and the block will probably work to your favor anyway. I doubt you'd even notice 7/8" misalignment and my guess is that the gypsyhead may be more forgiving with line angle than the hauler fairlead, so it's going to work fine too. Bet its all going to work out great for you.

Yeah the quick link I just might need to further midget size the davit, ie lower the block, I installed the davit as high as I could possibly stand to have it. Quick link would lower the block for us us vertically challenged folks. But I don't think that will impact the clocking of the setup, if anything might let the block swing over and self align better.

Got the AC unit bolted down and all lashed in. Just need to finish fastening the box.

Since there was going to be an object there, I made something useful of it, put a jump seat over it.

You might note, outlet to the AC is Y'd - that's how the ballast tank empties, until it proves it's worth - then it can get it's own through hull, and I can remove a valve from the head that just assures in some parallel universe the AC pump doesn't fill the ballast tank on accident.

In the far right side of first picture you can see the gadget box where I located the thermostat/control. The brain/junction-box is fastened above the AC unit under the rail

Forward side of system is just what you see - a 6 inch duct. Return is, the imperfections in my box, one 3 x 5 vent at the forward end, then that bulkhead has a 5 inch hole that continues through the kitchenette (which has vents) and smaller vents go all the way to the v berth. Attempting to basically create a vacuum up into the cabin, to draw the cooled or heated air through the whole space. Will it work? Probably some, but bottom line when it's 95 that little pilot house ought to be cool with 12k btu.

Left town, brought some things to iron out with me. Item #1 is the light fixture going atop the gin pole.

The tube with the round plate welded to it slides into the pole at the top, gets pinned there likely by a lifting eye.

This large piece of plate gets cut into some esthetically pleasing shape - and I'm thinking round via a jigsaw. And then bolts to the other base.

2 of these 110v lights get mounted to the large round base, facing aft, and 6 of the small 12v Hella's are to be spread 360 degrees. Ideally all hung from the underside - though for real estate reasons I might end up with the aft facing 12v lights atop, using some agle aluminum to allow them to swivel in a down angled position as I need..

The 110v lights, were procured by some careful culling of HK industries amazon stuff. Are documented as IP67 rated, pass the straight face test as far as appearing so, and have aluminum housings with 8 threaded holes that are likely the metric equivalent of 5/16 available to mount them very well kinda however one sees fit. The farse in the advertising is that the brackets are ferrous or some terrible stainless grade, I'll overcome that issue via my own aluminum brackets.

The hauler is for the anchor mostly, the gypsy head was just a cool way to order the hauler and ought to work well loading fish along w/ block and tackle, and then sure if I have an opportunity, I like having some lobster pots.

Really what it's setup for is rod and reel inshore tuna fishing. We tend to do some overnights and I can squeeze some trips in after work. I have more experience and luck fishing in the dark, or in the hours around in, in general.

Depending how things go, if they let me commercial striper fish, I'll do some. In some seasons past I'd sell some totes of macks.

I might seek out a commercial shark permit (are limited access but transferable and not worth a zillion $$'s last I checked) - nice if porbeagles are around to make a few bucks to put toward replacing the leaders they destroyed.

If I figure out a way to get the boat into NH, I'd probably get a part time commercial lobster permit, < 100 traps - this is open to residents. Years past when I regularly had MA residents on board we would keep some traps, I enjoyed that, but being a NH resident, I cannot even get a recreational permit in MA (which is typically how things are done with lobster permits).

With all those lights he's going to get confused with air traffic control at Logan Airport.

I hope so but I honestly do not anticipate that level of performance :) - talking a total of < 3 amps @ 120vac and < 7 amps @ 12vdc.

All in good fun. Sorry I missed you at the blowout. We ran the boat south in the morning to try to get a jump. Didn't pan out for us but saw you guys got one.

I did give you a holler, assumed you were on the big sporty behind us, but didn't see anyone going for the phone, so I figured you didn't ignore me :)..

I hung around day 2 until we were done cleaning up a "plumbing" issue on the boat. And I enjoyed the scenery. But just couldn't fathom being there in the sun for another few hours until the night event even began, so I split. That's the trouble w/ tournaments, in the absence of hard drugs it's difficult to both fish and party effectively. I did it better this year, took the day prior off so I could join the party sooner - maybe next time I'll take the day after off too.

The way this thing fought, was in very shallow water, I would have bet a weeks pay it was 800+, was just so firmly stuck to the bottom. Had us all fooled. Though at the time we still thought it could be in the running with such low turnout, but wasn't - still was great to weigh one in. For all the fish this boat kills, they have terrible luck during tournaments.

Can't really go by the amp draw. Some lights put out more than others with less amps. ;)

I got a phone call once concerning a light bar that was flashing :) - the converse of what you said, some draw a whole lot of amps and do not do much. That was the case with this one, had like 16 gauge wire coming out of it, was wired up with 14, and there was so much voltage drop / amps involved, it would flash randomly if batteries were not absolutely fully charged.

Funny, the extra lights on the Jeep just get dim if battery voltage get low, no flashing.

This thing was a piece of shit. Worked OK with 10 gauge :) - but probably put out as much light as say 2 of the little Hella's I've got. Drew 20 amps or something like that.
